Rooted in the Jodo Shinshu tradition of Shinran Shonin, the Newport Beach Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple serves as a spiritual gathering place for the coastal Southern California community. We are an affiliate of Shinshu Otani-ha, one of the oldest and largest Buddhist denominations in Japan.

 

Our mission is to share the Buddha's teachings of wisdom and compassion through the Nembutsu the saying of Namu Amida Butsu and to nurture a welcoming Sangha where all people can explore the Jodo Shinshu path together. We welcome everyone.
